We have an extra kid in the house today. My niece has come to play with the kids. She’s the same age as my daughter, and they get along splendidly. And my son loves to look out for them and play with them when they’re not being too girly.
It’s the most fascinating phenomenon that adding a child to the house reduces the net number of children in the house by that number plus one. At least. I haven’t seen them for hours, besides the occasional visual confirmation that no one’s dead or seriously injured or being held hostage somewhere.
We should have kids over every weekend. Imagine all the things I could get done! Intelligent combination of available children, could one day mean a cure for cancer, an answer to world peace, and the invention of faster than light travel. I’m surprised no one’s thought of this before.
